The Shelter Forum Board of Directors has twelve members. The present Chairman is Mr. David Mshila, of GTZ Small Towns Development Project (GTZ-STDP). Other members are drawn from the following organisations: Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Kituo cha Sheria, Architectural Society of Kenya (AAK), Nairobi Vikundi vya Kujisaidia, National Housing Co-operative Union (NACHU), Association of Local Government Authorities of Kenya (ALGAK), House of Manji Foundation, Groots network and Intermediate Technology Development Group.
Prof. Saad Yahya, a professional planner and academician, represents individual members. The Shelter Forum Secretariat completes the Board membership.
The target group, i.e. poor grassroots communities, is represented on the Board by Nairobi Vikundi, which is an umbrella body consisting of more than 60 Community Based Organisations (CBOs) drawn from different slums in Nairobi. Currently, Anne Wanjiru is the Vikundi representative. Together with Christine Mugo and Esther Wanjiru, Anne also represents women's interests.
